While I love the luxury of silk, I’m not so keen on its maintenance. It’s pretty demanding, particularly when you compare it to its fabric siblings like cotton, and on top of that, silk doesn’t come cheap. It seems the silk gods have heard our cries and recently, there has been an emergence of a low maintenance variety. Silk shirts that never have to be dry cleaned? Sign me up! I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on several washable silk pieces from Everlane - my current go-to and general treasure trove for elevated basics. Everlane’s Washable Silk collection currently consists of two styles - the Relaxed Shirt and the Henley. I share my thoughts in this post.
With extended periods of time spent at home, there’s no denying that we’ve never quite appreciated loungewear as much as we have in recent times. Our trusty companion for laying on the sofa binge-watching shows or curling up in bed with a good book & a cup of tea or working from home (or living at work…). I’m sporting Everlane’s Dream Pant in Dark Forest and the name speaks for itself - they really are a dream come true and these can be best described as tailored trousers that feel like sweat pants. I share my thoughts on sizing and quality in this post.
What has the simplicity of a dress and the practicality of pants? A jumpsuit of course! It’s like a dress, but for pants people. And its primary perk is that it allows you to look polished and put-together with little to no effort: just throw it on and you’re ready to go - no styling necessary - great for those mornings when you’re strapped for time and can’t figure out what to wear. I’m sporting the Everlane Japanese GoWeave Essential Jumpsuit - their hero jumpsuit that's been taken to the next level thanks to the premium Japanese fabrication.
It has been great to dust off my workwear favourites from my wardrobe again. And one contemporary brand that has regularly featured in my outfits for the office has been London-based label, The Fold, known for their impeccable tailoring and quality craftsmanship. In today’s post, I wanted to share with you the pieces from The Fold that have formed part of my regular workwear rotation.
I’ve been feeling a new sense of optimism this month as I transition back to working out of the office. While there are a few things to get used to, including the commute into the city (that I really didn’t miss), getting dressed has been integral to getting me back into the swing of things. My style ethos encourages mixing high street and high end, and to that end, while I love a good high street find, I always invest when it comes to my workwear staples. For me, they’re the pieces that pull an outfit together and really boost my self-confidence. In today’s post, I thought I’d share with you the ultimate investment pieces for your work wardrobe.
I recommend a fair few things here on the blog and I thought it would be interesting to share the items that have been the most popular among all of you. For the most part, I haven't been surprised by the items that you've loved the most. They are the pieces that form core wardrobe staples and do double-duty one way or another. But there are a few surprises that I unearthed when going through the numbers!
