Firstly, if my husband is reading this: 1/ thanks for your support, I’m so glad you’re actually on my blog but 2/ go away? This is not for your consumption.

Now that we’ve got that housekeeping out of the way, Father’s Day is next week and, in the process of shopping for the father figures in my life, I’ve come across some nifty gear. So I may as well treat you to a quick edit of my top picks in case it helps with next week’s festivities.

There’s a bit of everything below, from practical gear through to a couple of more extravagant options. Most are things either my husband or I already own and rate, so I can at least vouch for them rather than simply throwing a bunch of genetic man stuff into a gift guide. Meanwhile, I walked to Milligram this morning specifically to pick up a Father’s Day card. More than a week early! Look at me! So organised!

Anyway, onto the gifts.

This specific pair of Country Road socks

Socks for Father’s Day. Call me a visionary. But given AFL and cricket are the primary sports in our household, this two-pack of socks from Country Road were irresistible. Generic Father’s Day gifting, but make it specific.

A very sensible leather belt

A good belt is one of those sensible presents that will actually get used. I particularly like this one from Country Road in chocolate brown. It’s also under $100 – score.

An elevated duffle bag

The moss green on this Country Road Duffle Bag is excellent, and the leather detailing makes it feel considerably more bougie than your average duffle. A very handsome weekender.

A top-notch and hardwearing backpack

I have an older iteration of this backpack from Bellroy and dig it so much. It’s hardwearing, really comfortable to wear and easily fits a laptop, but is designed as an rugged outdoor bag and it’s my go to for day-hiking thanks to the padded straps and sternum strap. I also love this colour – a subtle hint to the man in your life that perhaps he too could add a little pop of colour to his outfits.

The Bedford Pants from Sportscraft

My husband is well and truly a Bedford man. He now owns four pairs of them and wears them predominantly to work but also when we’re out and about. A top-notch chino and a very safe bet if you know his size.

Patagonia Fleece!

I love Patagonia fleece. I personally enjoy dressing like a dad, so perhaps I’ve projected slightly by getting the rest of the family decked out in Patagonia too. But it is supreme, made to last and the colours are always excellent. If the man in your life doesn’t already own one, may I suggest this Patagonia Fleece? It’s also currently on sale for around $120.

Bared Footwear boat shoes

Nothing says love quite like buying someone podiatrist-designed footwear. These boat shoes are excellent – comfy, polished and easy to wear with pretty much everything.

New Balance 574 Sneakers

Does it get much more classic than a pair of 574s? There’s not much further than needs to be said.

A classic Moka Pot

Another excellent option for anyone who takes their coffee seriously. We love using our Moka Pot at home – they’re such nifty little things and make an excellent cup of coffee without requiring an enormous machine taking up half the kitchen bench (which we also have but who doesn’t love more gadgets). Also pleasingly old-school.

Oliver Peoples sunglasses

Both my husband and I have Oliver Peoples optical frames and sunglasses and absolutely love them. If the man in your life is due for some new frames, I’m particularly fond of their styles. This pair is a great one for the modern man. Very handsome, very 1960s-esque. Very Gregory Peck.

A chef-fy stainless steel pan

If your recipient enjoys spending time in the kitchen (my husband is an EXCELLENT cook), a good stainless steel pan is an excellent present. We recently acquired some stainless steel pans and, when they’re not in use, my husband likes to keep them stacked on the stovetop as though he’s working in the kitchen on The Bear. Every Second Counts.

Ooni pizza oven

And finally, the big-ticket option. I bought my husband this Ooni pizza oven a couple of years ago and he loves it (we also love it because we directly benefit from the pizzas, which is perhaps the ultimate gift-giving hack!). I know there’s an ongoing Gozney vs Ooni debate but having had the Ooni now for the past couple of years, I wholeheartedly recommend.

And that’s it! Hope those ideas have sparked some inspo.

Thanks for stopping by!
