As this blog post title suggests, here are some bits and bobs that I’ve been really enjoying lately. Knock yourself out!
Sezane Striped Shirt
I’ve come to realise that I’m well and truly a shirt person. And with an already solid collection (see this round up here… the collection has expanded since I posted this lol), I thought I’d lean in and add to it further… naturally. I’ve been loving this red-striped shirt, which is the newest addition to my wardrobe. Having sold out several times over (which probably did something psychological to make me want it even more), I pounced when I received the restock notification. I’d say the colour leans more dark peachy-pink than true red, and I love the contrasting black and white striped detail, which elevates it a little.

Sezane shirt (sz FR 38, AU 10)
This is an outfit I wore last week to work and it’s one I’m keeping in the bank to rewear again. I sized up in the shirt to an AU 10 / FR 38 as I like my shirts to be properly oversized. This particular shirt is made from organic cotton (Sezane can be a little confusing in that the same style is often offered in different colours and prints that can also be made from completely different fabrics). Meanwhile, I bought the striped blue cotton-linen version of the shirt almost three years ago and it’s one of my go-tos. The cotton-linen fabric leans a little more casual but being a shirt, it has just the right amount of structure for the office too (and I even wore it on an interstate work trip).

Scanlan Theodore Jeans

The jeans I finally got altered! Huzzah! You might recall I “accidentally” bought these during a weekend I spent in Melbourne earlier this year (here’s a recap on that particular shopping adventure as it was a good one). The jeans are high-waisted with a wide leg silhouette, and I love the deep indigo denim, which makes them feel a lot dressier than my usual jeans. You don’t need to do much in the way of styling – they look great paired with a simple tee or knit. And given Scanlan is typically pretty exxy, I actually find these jeans to be reasonably priced – at least compared to some of my other go-to denim brands, like Nobody Denim & Henne.
As is tradition when I buy stuff that needs to be tailored, they sat sadly in a pile at the bottom of my wardrobe for months before I finally got around to doing something about them. And while I appreciate they looked incredible straight off the rack in the fitting room (and technically didn’t need hemming when worn with 8cm heels, as per the picture below), high heels aren’t exactly part of my regular rotation and it was always part of the plan to have them tailored so I could actually wear them with flats.

And they are SO good now that I’ve had them done. Another reminder that I should really stop procrastinating on tailoring.
Klipsta Clips

Klipsta hat clip, Uniqlo cashmere cardigan, Anna Quan skirt (sold out), Bared Footwear loafers*, Status Anxiety sunglasses
Now for a very practical call out for some of the nifty things that I’m always so chuffed to have. I originally bought a Klipsta hat clip from Strand Hatters a few years ago as a smart solution to securing my Akubra hat to my bag (as you can appreciate, those hats can be awkward to hold when you’re not wearing them). The magnet is impressively strong.
We ended up buying a few more to attach to our bags to use for caps and for the boys to attach their school bags. The magnet is so strong and they’re incredible durable! Very nifty indeed.
Patagonia Fleece Hoodie

Patagonia hooded fleece jacket (sz S), Macpac thermal layer (sz 6), Kathmandu pants (sz 8), Salomon sneakers
Not the most glamorous piece in this favourites round up but this has been my favourite hoodie for walks at the moment. I bought this a couple of weeks before our Queenstown trip as a light fleece layer (here’s a round up of my Queenstown outfits and the things we did while we were there. It’s thin but keeps me nice and toasty while also being breathable – exactly what I want when I’m trying to hit my step count for the day and don’t want to wear and then awkwardly hold a chunky fleece jumper once I’ve warmed up.

L: Patagonia hooded fleece jacket (sz S), lululemon top* (sz US 6 / AU 10), lululemon tights* (sz US 6 / AU 10), Move Active socks; R: Patagonia hooded fleece jacket (sz S),
I really rate Patagonia’s technical fabrics generally and this R1 fabric is excellent. Mine is the hooded version but it also comes in a jumper if hoods aren’t your thing.
Status Anxiety Sunglasses

Status Anxiety sunglasses, Sezane jacket (sz AU 8 / US 4)
This is my second pair of white tort sunnies from Status Anxiety. I already have a cat-eye pair which I’ve worn to death, but I’ve been wearing these oval ones from Status Anxiety a lot lately. They’re a bit more modern and the white tort still makes them more interesting than your standard black sunglasses.

Status Anxiety sunglasses*, Nimble Activewear knit* (sz S), Uniqlo Heattech top (grey top worn underneath – sz S), Sportscraft jeans* (sz 8), Salomon sneakers (AU link / Global link), Beracamy bag*
Bared Combat Boots

L: Bared combat style boots*, DISSH jacket* (sz 8), Nobody Denim jeans (these are a few years old, I’ve linked a similar version here), Strathberry bag* (review here), Status Anxiety sunglasses; R: Bared combat style boots*, Sezane jacket (sz FR 36 / AU 8 / US 4), Nobody Denim jeans (a few seasons old, here’s a similar pair), Saben handbag*, Oliver Peoples sunglasses
These are in regular rotation. I love the chunky, gorpcore vibe and have been wearing these boots with jeans and my barrel leg trousers. They’re my go-to casual winter shoe as they keep my feet nice and warm particularly on dewy or wet mornings with weekend sport. I appreciate there’s a lot of shoe, with the chunky sole and the laces up the ankles (particularly if you’re used to wearing low profile shoes all the time), but these are really comfortable to walk in. Stick with your usual size (I sized down in one of their older styles and it wasn’t fun).

Bared boots*, Atmos & Here Cable Knit Jumper* (sz 8). Uniqlo barrel-leg trousers (sz S), Saben black handbag*, Oliver Peoples sunglasses. Gucci scarf (similar here)
Anna Quan Pippa Top

L: Anna Quan top* (sz 8), Vintage Burberry coat (some options here and here), Uniqlo pants (sz S – inseam length altered to 64cm), Strathberry bag*; R: Anna Quan top* (sz 8), Uniqlo pants (sz S – inseam length altered to 64cm), Scanlan Theodore heels
How nice is this top?!
It’s a mixed-media style that Anna Quan has become synonymous with, featuring a fitted ribbed bodice with shirting. The all-in-one layering situation just works – both from a styling standpoint and practically speaking (I have attempted to style a strapless top over a shirt and it was puckering in all the wrong places). I bought the short sleeve version earlier this year and then I attended Anna Quan’s Pre-Fall collection launch a couple of months ago and they sent me the new season long sleeve version to style. I love the chocolate brown – it feels a little softer than black and works really well with denim and dressier work pants.

Fressko Coffee Cup

Fressko coffee cup*, Sezane shirt (sz US 38 / AU 10), Vintage Burberry coat (some options here and here), Assembly Label knit (draped as scarf)
Finally, an impulse purchase that has sparked much joy. My old reusable coffee cup had seen better days, so I bought this Fressko one on my way home from work one night. I mostly chose it because I liked the colour and that has turned out to be an entirely adequate reason. I also love supporting stellar Aussie brands.
It’s great for both hot and cold drinks. On my in-office days I’ve started treating myself to an (exorbitantly priced) iced matcha (yep, even in winter), and I’ll slowly sip throughout the day. It stays cold for hours and an iced matcha feels a bit like dessert and a little treat to get me through the rest of the work day.
And that’s a wrap! I’m thinking I might make these posts a semi-regular dumping ground for the things I’m enjoying that don’t necessarily warrant a dedicated blog post – clothes I’ve been wearing a lot, beauty bits, useful things I’ve discovered, books, food, whatever happens to be bringing me joy at the time.
Anyway, those are mine. Let me know if you’ve discovered anything particularly good lately because I’m always curious about other people’s specific favourites.
Thanks for stopping by!
