It’s well documented that Power Of My People is my ride or die shirt brand. I’ve got five of their shirts on rotation and every single one is A+ / five stars / 100% certified fresh (pick your rating scale, they ace it 😉). Psst… here’s one of my many reviews.

And it’s also well documented on this blog that not all wardrobe pieces are created equal. POMP have proved that with their shirts. They use the kind of premium fabrics you really have to touch to understand. I’ve converted many a friend by making (ie. forcing) them to try one on (witnessing someone’s “ohhh okay, I get it now” moment is very satisfying).

Their Oxford shirts are an essential in my wardrobe. I have the style in white, lilac, and light blue and I love that they can be styled as both a classic button-up for the office, or thrown over a tank as a light shacket on the weekends. I took their linen shirt with me on our Japan travels last year and it earned its keep immediately. Unlike a lot of high-street linen – you know, the kind that creases as soon as you finish buttoning it up – the heavyweight linen used by POMP holds its shape beautifully.

A Power Of My People shirt hates to see me coming

Power Of My People offer two core fits: the Proper Fit, which is their classic, tailored silhouette, and the Wayward Fit, which is cut roomier and more relaxed. All of my shirts are in the Proper Fit, but I size up to get that slightly oversized, borrowed-from-the-boys look – the best of both worlds. Both fits still have that thoughtful, premium feel the brand is known for – it just comes down to how you like your shirt to sit.

My Newest Addition

The newest shirt in my wardrobe is The Tailor in Green & White Stripe. There’s nothing more classic than a striped shirt – a pattern that slots seamlessly into a classic wardrobe. As always, I sized up to a medium for that boxy and relaxed look that I love. I particularly love styling this shirt with the sleeves pushed up for that undone look.

New Season Favourites

I’ve put together a small edit from their new collection of pieces worth a look – especially with their Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale that kicks off this Thursday . Plenty of great shirting and wardrobe staples for those you looking to take advantage of the sales to refresh your wardrobe. Seasonal differences aside, shirts are very much a year-round thing for me. They’re really taking it up a few notches with the new season prints and fabrics.

From L to R:

  • The Folkkeeper Shirt – crafted from a premium linen cotton blend fabric
  • The Framer – a lightweight shirt featuring their wide format twill weave stripe. This shirt offers a soft drape and is the perfect balance between comfort & polish
  • Wanderer Shorts – a timeless high-waisted tailored short with an elasticated back in their heavy duty red canvas cotton

From L to R:

  • The Tailor Shirt in Green & White Stripe – what can I say, I’m biased!
  • The Collector Shirt – the aubergine / grey jacquard fabric is stunning on this one
  • The Vanguard Shirt in Black and White Windmill Flannel – no wardrobe is complete without a flannel shirt and this one provides that toastiness while still offering a soft fluid and drape.

Black Friday / Cyber Monday Details

The 20% off site-wide sale officially starts this Thursday and runs until 11:59pm PST on Monday, 1 December. Just use the code POWERFORGOOD at checkout.

A lovely detail: 10% of all BFCM sales will be donated to environmental charities as part of their long-running Power For Good initiative. And once the sale wraps, you can always use my code VIRGINIA10-196 for 10% off full-priced items.

As always, thanks for stopping by.
