I used to wear Scanlan’s crepe knit religiously – back when corporate wear was a lot more… corporate (see Vintage Vee here and here). There’s something about their pieces that always made me feel pulled together without trying too hard. It’s one of those premium Aussie labels that has stayed true to its DNA – beautiful fabrics, clean lines, and silhouettes that just work.
Their boutiques are always staffed by those impossibly chic, Amazonian sales associates who make you want to stand taller, tuck your hair behind your ear and say things like, “I’ll take both.” Whenever work took me to Melbourne, it was always a non-negosh to make a stop at the outlet in Melbourne Central (back when it was still there). It always felt like a treasure trove – racks of crepe knits and silks – and I was quietly envious of Melburnians for having access to it. (Appreciate there’s now an outlet in Rosebery for us Sydneysiders – huzzah!)
Now that event season is rolling around, I’ve been revisiting the brand with fresh eyes. I tend to avoid buying anything that screams eventwear – I’d rather find pieces that work double time. Dressy enough for a long lunch or work function, but still wearable for everyday.
Most of the pieces in this edit are technically on sale, and sneakily hidden away – but fear not, they’re all linked in this blog post.
Let’s get to it!

Cashmere Tie Neck Top
Effortlessly simple and endlessly wearable. The tie neck detail adds a feminine touch without feeling fussy. This one comes in about six shades and has been one of the brand’s most popular staples.

Beaded Satin Top in Army Green
I just ordered this in a size 8 – fingers crossed, because the returns policy isn’t exactly forgiving. The drape is beautifully fluid and the muted army green feels modern but still understated. I’m so excited for this one to arrive – I shall be keeping a close eye on the notifications from Australia Post!

Beaded Satin Drape Dress in Black
The dress version of the satin top – more dramatic, more directional, but still that same relaxed elegance. The kind of piece that looks “done” without overthinking.

One Shoulder Soft Top in White
A minimal silhouette with just enough detail to feel interesting. Perfect with wide-leg trousers or tucked into a midi skirt for event season dressing that isn’t too complicated.

Lemon Poppy Silk Shirt
Crinkled silk, soft beading, and a sunny lemon tone that reads both sophisticated and playful. I’ve got a soft spot for yellow and this is a nice injection of colour into an otherwise neutral-heavy wardrobe.

Denim Shirt with Tie Neck Detail
There are so many denim shirts around right now, but this one feels particularly elevated – the tie neck adds polish, and the tailoring keeps it sharp.

Poppy Beaded Top with Handcrafted Flower Details
A total statement piece, but done the Scanlan way. Comes with the cornflower blue slip pictured. The texture, the detailing – it’s the kind of top that doesn’t need much else.

Subtle Paisley Jacquard Wrap Shirt in Tangerine
This is one of those pieces that instantly perks up an outfit. I love the tone – not too loud, not too sweet – and the wrap silhouette is universally flattering.

Silk Jacquard Skirt with Draped Ruffle in Cobalt Blue
The colour alone is worth it. A bold blue that somehow pairs well with neutrals, blacks, or even the tangerine wrap shirt above if you’re feeling brave.

Crepe Knit Ballet Dress in Powder Blue
Crepe knit really is a magical fabric, it wouldn’t be a Scanlan edit if I didn’t include a crepe knit item! This dress is sculptural yet stretchy, polished yet comfortable. This one’s got all the hallmarks – ruffles, structured sleeves, and that signature Scanlan fit that flatters without clinging.

Silk Pencil Skirt in Burnt
A muted orangey-brown that feels wearable year-round. Great for a pop of colour in a work rotation, and equally elegant dressed up for evening.
SHOP MY EDIT HERE
As much as I love a good event outfit, I love even more when those pieces slot seamlessly into my existing wardrobe. Scanlan Theodore has always nailed that balance. If you’ve got events on the calendar (and want to sidestep the panic purchase), this edit is a good place to start.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
P.S. Five transitional shoe styles for this in-between/confusing weather!
