I’ve lost count of how many Sezane Will Jackets I’ve bought, tried, and subsequently rehomed. (Actually – no. I can count. It was four.) There was the denim one, the mustard suede version, the khaki one and the camel suede one. All in an XS. All worn a few times, admired in the mirror, then eventually listed on Depop with a description that read something along the lines of “worn a couple of times, as new, just not quite right on me.”
The truth? I was buying the wrong size.
Exhibits A, B and C appear below. For reference, I’m 158cm tall and I typically wear a size AU 8 / UK 8 / US 4. I also just want to note that fit is very much personal preference – I just like my things to have a more relaxed fit nowadays.

It was one of those wardrobe Groundhog Day scenarios. I loved the idea of the jacket – the utility styling, the fact that it could also be worn as a shirt, the signature patch pockets. It’s the sort of piece that slots seamlessly into my wardrobe – smart enough for work, relaxed enough for the weekend, and a very welcome alternative to the blazers I typical reach for on weekdays, and the oversized knit jumpers I wear on the weekends. Despite it being a beautiful jacket, it never felt quite right in a size XS. The shoulders were too snug, the fit a little off, and I couldn’t comfortably layer a knit underneath. So I did what most of us do – blamed my body, not the sizing. But here we are, in 2025, with a little more perspective and a slightly roomier Will jacket – size S, in the camel suede – huzzah! I’m so glad I didn’t give up on this one – it’s excellent!

The extra ease through the shoulders and torso makes all the difference. I can throw it on over a knit or layer it under a longer jacket and it still looks intentional. The suede has that buttery, slightly vintage finish, and this particular style has been raved about this season (to be fair, I can’t remember when the Will Jacket wasn’t a hot commodity…) For something that looks and feels this good, it’s also remarkably well-priced for real suede – especially when you compare it to similar high street options that lean more faux than functional. It’s offered in both camel suede and khaki suede – and while I love both, it’s hard to go past a classic tan suede jacket. The texture of the fabric really shines in this colour.

It’s the kind of jacket that wears in nicely too, and will get better with age. Styling wise, it works in all scenarios, from my wide leg jeans to my flowy satin skirt.
This isn’t my first Sezane rodeo – they’re one of my favourite brands to shop. I have a soft spot for their French-ified take on everyday classics. But there’s something satisfying about finally nailing the right size in a piece you’ve long admired. No Depop listing necessary.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
