If you’ve ever opened Net-A-Porter for a quick scroll and resurfaced a few hours later (with a suspicious number of open tabs)… welcome. Hi! Hello! (Let’s be friends!)

Some of my favourite luxury bits available via Net-A-Porter, from L to R: Gucci scarf, Gucci bag, Frankie Shop black trousers (sz S), A.Emery sandals, Loewe bag, adidas sneakers, Posse black skirt, Dries Van Noten heels (new season version here), Dragon Diffusion woven bag

Net-A-Porter has long been my digital happy place – indulgent, yes, but refreshingly easy to browse. Their vast edit of luxury feels curated rather than chaotic, and best of all, you don’t need a personal shopper (or an interaction with a snooty sales associate) to have a browse. The delivery’s quick (bless you, DHL) and returns are painless, which makes the whole process feel pretty effortless. Whether I’m on the hunt for a forever piece or just having a casual scroll in my pyjamas, it always delivers.

I’ve approached shopping from NAP both ways – a treat purchase here, a long-considered classic there. Sometimes I’ll try something in store and stalk it on NAP until the timing (or discount) is right – and sometimes it’s the other way around. After a recent nosey scroll, I’ve put together an edit of the excellent pieces that caught my eye including bags under $1,000 AUD (huzzah!), classic bags and accessories that will never date, and wardrobe heroes that’ll work seriously hard for you.

Many of my most-worn pieces – like my Gucci loafers, Dragon Diffusion bag and Manolo mules – were all purchased from Net-A-Porter. While I love a scroll as much as the next person, my NAP buys tend to be thoughtful ones – the kind that end up on high rotation.

Let us begin.

Bags Under $1000

Net-A-Porter is often the first place I check when I’m hunting down that bag – the one that’s been living in my wishlist or one that I’ve spotted on the arms of stylish people online. This bag edit under $1,000 AUD features styles that feel considered, not boring.

  1. A very well priced leather tote – This is the smaller version of the tote bag I own, and a great price for woven leather. Not only was it made to last, but it also adds some texture and interest to your outfit. No wonder it’s such a favourite among the fashion people I follow.
  2. A very cute mini canvas tote with contrast trim – The black contrast trim adds polish and really takes this classic woven bag up a few notches.
  3. This woven leather tote – this Dragon Diffusion style is a lot more practical than the classic Santa Croce in my opinion with the wider opening that makes it less awkward to get in and out of.
  4. The Loewe raffia icon – I’m sure you’ve all seen this one. Maybe you’ve even considered it. The drawstring lining is actually very practical and makes this a very tempting one for me.
  5. The large woven leather tote I own and love – I wasn’t going to put together this bag edit and not include the bag I own and love. It’s textured like straw but made of leather and is great for both work and weekend.
  6. A bold beaded clutch – I firmly believe clutch bags should come in fun colours. This one delivers.
  7. A Loewe mini moment – Paula’s Ibiza, cardholder-friendly, with the best little leather anagram patch.
  8. This trending raffia shoulder bag – Raffia but make it ladylike. The shape is giving grown-up summer.

Pieces I’d Recommend to Anyone

This next (very specifically named) category features the classic heroes – bags and accessories that aren’t trying too hard, but always pull their weight. If you’re building a rotation of staples that work hard year after year, this list is for you.

  1. A pair of sleek Celine sunnies – slightly chunkier thanks to the acetate frame, always iconic.
  2. The Celine sunnies that have sold out many times over – it’s easy to understand why too.
  3. The Gucci Jackie in patent olive – I’ve tried this style in this size in-store and it is hands down the best size in the Jackie bag. I was tossing up between the Jackie and the style I ultimately purchased (also featured further down in this list) but this is a beautiful bag that I would love to one day own.
  4. This silk-wool Gucci scarf – I own an old season version (technically speaking), but the silk-wool blend scarves are timeless in my opinion. I’ve got a chunky wool scarf from Acne Studios (also purchased from NAP many years ago), but I love the draped nature of this silk-wool blend. Also, the grey = neutral hero.
  5. This classic reissue Gucci bag that I own – this was a purchase from a few years ago that marked a milestone. It has been a staple in my wardrobe and I see myself wearing it for many years to come.
  6. Pink sneakers that go with more than you think – I’m so into pops of colour in my shoes and accessories at the moment – I love me these personality sneakers.
  7. This woven Bottega clutch – here’s something on my wishlist – it’s beautifully structured and not as ubiquitous as the pouch.
  8. My beloved Puzzle bag, in beige – The shape, the size, this go-with-anything colour, the practicality. It’s a 10+ year old design (yes it’s had a few iterations) but it’s still rock solid in my opinion.
  9. Classic loafers that truly go with everything – a predictable rec from me considering I bought mine from NAP 4+ years ago and they’re still going strong. The price tag’s hefty, but I have zero regrets.
  10. A minimalist black leather sandal – this Aussie label makes the A+ sandals. I own this style in a different shade but it’s a forever shape that is proving very popular among fashion folk on the internet.
  11. This woven bag on my wishlist – there are so many things to love about this bag – the compact but practical size, the fact that it has protective metal feet, and I love its versatility as both a dressy and casual bag. For now, I’ve scratched my woven bag itch with my Dragon Diffusion tote but I really would love to add this to my bag rotation.

Other Excellent Things I’d Recommend

These are the clothes and accessories I’ve either tried, loved, or added to cart. Think hardworking staples with personality – the kinds of pieces you’ll thank yourself for buying when getting dressed on days where you think “I have nothing to wear”.

  1. A shirt dress that feels like art – the contrast trim, the beautiful print, Alemais always executes the little details well.
  2. This red crew neck knit – oversized, warm and the perfect pop of colour.
  3. This single-breasted Burberry jacket – I bought the vintage version in Japan and I love how clean style of the car coat in comparison to the (arguably more popular) double-breasted versions. To me, this one feels more classic.
  4. A classic denim shirt worth adding to cart – non-stretchy, midweight, and the kind that gets better with age.
  5. My go-to linen skirt in white – self-explanatory. A summer staple. The linen used in this style is excellent.
  6. Same skirt, but in black – as above. This skirt looks just as good with sandals as it does with boots.
