Every so often, a pair of shoes quietly becomes your go-to – not because they’re flashy or trendy, but because they work. That’s exactly what’s happened with these loafers from Bared, which I’ve been wearing non-stop lately, both for my 9 to 5, and everything else.
Bared loafers* styled with Henne top* (sz XS/S), Levi’s jeans (also here and here), Arms of Eve earrings*, Gucci bag (review here – AU link, US link, UK link also here)
I opted for the rustic brown leather, which adds just the right amount of contrast to my outfits. (They also come in black, if that’s more your thing.) You’ll spot them styled in a fair few outfits (10!) in the photos I’ve included in this post – with everything from tailored trousers and midi skirts to relaxed denim.

Bared loafers* styled with L: Patagonia shirt (sz S – similar here), Uniqlo x Anya Hindmarch knit (draped on shoulders – sz S), Arket tee (worn underneath, sz S), Henne jeans (sz 27), Dragon Diffusion bag (also here and here), Status Anxiety sunglasses*, Arms of Eve earrings*; R: The Curated knit* (sz XS – new season version linked), Lilysilk skirt* (sz 8), Anna Quan socks*, Status Anxiety sunglasses*, Gucci bag (review here – AU link, US link, UK link also here)
The Emutail loafer is a modern, slightly chunky riff on the classic penny loafer. It features a T-bar strap with an adjustable buckle, and intricate woven detailing gives it a decorative brogue-esque touch. The raised sole (28mm) gives a bit of lift, and the polished leather upper manages to feel structured and soft. The rustic brown shade brings a vintage feel that’s surprisingly versatile – I’ve found it works beautifully with both warm and cool tones.
One thing I’ve particularly enjoyed: styling them with socks (I know… who dis?!). From these neutral toned socks to my bright green crews from Family Mart (one of my greatest impulse purchases) – they make the loafers feel playful and layered. It’s a subtle styling detail, but it gives the loafers even more range.

Bared loafers* styled with L: Sportscraft shirt* (sz 8 – my one is from last season, new season version linked), Arket tee (worn underneath, sz S), Henne jeans (sz 27), Status Anxiety sunglasses*, Arms of Eve earrings*, R: Free People denim jacket* (sz XS), Levi’s jeans (also here and here), Arms of Eve earrings*, Dragon Diffusion bag (also here and here), Huzzah cap

But are they comfortable?!
As you’d expect from Bared, the loafers are made for all-day wear. The cushioned footbed, arch support, and adjustability features make them genuinely comfortable straight out of the box. They feel secure without slipping – no heel rub, no drama.
In fact, I’ve walked all the way to work in these (roughly 50 mins from home at a brisk-ish pace) and then there’s all of the schlepping in and around the office I do in my regular work day. They passed the all day test with flying colours.
As for wear and tear, I’ve been reaching for these a few times a week over the past couple of months and they’ve held up nicely. The leather is softening in all the right ways but it’s still holding its shape. No scuffs or fading to report on either.

Bared loafers* styled with L: Petal & Pup top* (sz S), Nobody Denim jeans (new season version linked here), Dragon Diffusion bag (also here and here), Arms of Eve earrings*, Status Anxiety sunglasses*; R: Henne top* (sz XS/S), Levi’s jeans (also here and here), Arms of Eve earrings*
If you’re after a loafer that looks great, offers all day comfort, and adds polish without being overly formal — these loafers are worth a serious look. I’ve loved them styled with everything from sharp tailoring to relaxed denim (plus socks!), and they’re fast becoming a shoe I reach for more days than not. I hope you found my review of the Bared Emutail Loafers to be helpful.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
