Sézane Pieces I’m Extremely Tempted By

Sézane is one of those brands that quietly works its way into your wardrobe rotation. Whether your style leans more feminine or more tailored, you’ll find something – or ten things – that feel like they were made for you. From buttery soft basics to polished layering pieces, their collection somehow hits that sweet spot between French effortlessness and everyday wearability.

I’ve shared many a Sézane unboxing over on YouTube (see here, here, and here), and if you know my moves by now, it usually goes like this: I build a wishlist, “convince” myself I’m only browsing, and then check out roughly 30 minutes after hitting publish. (Call it tradition.)

It’s been a while since my last Sézane order – mostly due to a self-imposed browsing ban. The site is dangerously well-curated and paired with a very friendly returns policy… let’s just say it doesn’t take much. But after almost a year off, here’s what’s currently sitting in my cart – as someone with a decent chunk of their wardrobe already Sézane-shaped.

Jackets

  • The Will jacket (this time, sized up) – I’ve bought this jacket several times before – in XS, in both denim (see here) and suede (see below) but somehow it never quite felt right and I’ve either returned them or rehomed them. And while I love the style (and how it looks on others), I’ve finally admitted to myself that I had been buying the wrong size all along. It’s technically a jacket, but behaves more like a shirt – and these days, I want my outer layers to feel relaxed and easy. I’m eyeing a size S in the camel suede this time for that intentionally slouchy, layered look. For reference, I’m 5’2 / 158cm tall and typically wear a size AU 8.
  • The Chelsea in grey – A classic silhouette in a soft dove grey — smart enough for work, easy enough for weekends. I already own both the Christie and Michele blazers – it’s only natural the Chelsea is on my hit list.
  • The Dakota quilted denim jacket – Quilted, cosy, and a nice way to wear denim without looking like you’ve borrowed your dad’s trucker jacket.
  • The Terry jacket – Still in the camel suede family, but with a more defined jacket feel. The sturdy buttons and heavier structure give this one a bit more presence (it also carries a heftier price tag too)
  • The Bobby jacket – Due to be restocked imminently, a cropped trench-style layer that’s been all over my feed lately – equal parts timeless and TikTok-approved. I also love the longer Clyde trench, but don’t have a gap for that particular style in my wardrobe given these purchases I made in Japan. Probably worthwhile mentioning here that I own and love the Scott Trench – here’s my comprehensive review.

Tops & Shirts

  • The Tomboy shirt – I already own this oversized style shirt in the same fabrication, so I know this will be a hero piece. Full disclosure, this one is currently sitting in my cart in a size AU 10 (I’ve considered the size guide and have opted to size up for a more relaxed fit). Mentally styling it with my vintage green Huzzah cap.
  • The Ron top – Boho without being too busy and cosplay-esque – the guipure detail is beautifully done and gives “holiday mode engaged” energy (when in reality we have no holidays on the horizon lol).
  • The Eloy top – a word of caution: not all Sézane knits are created equal. However, their merino wool knits are fantastic (I’ve owned multiple Betty cardigans), especially for sensitive skin. This top has a solid dose of merino wool and I’m digging the polo style. The Gaspard cardigan, for example, can be slightly itchy. Worth checking fabric composition if you’re picky about feel.

Shoes I’m Eyeing

  • The Caroline loafers – holy moly I am SO tempted by these. Part boat shoe, part loafer – I just love the boyish style. Still deciding between the glossy leather and the suede… both feel like they’d fit seamlessly into my wardrobe. That said, I’ve got sensible Virginia in my head telling me that I don’t have a gap for these in my wardrobe, as I’ve got these Mary Jane style loafers from Bared Footwear that are currently serving the same purpose. But now that I’m thinking out loud… perhaps the suede ones will provide a point of difference. Hmmm…
  • The Paula Babies – I was tempted by the iconic Carel’s shoes and recently bought the red patent ones to try, but after a Reddit deep dive made me second-guess the leather quality, I sent them back within the returns window. These have been presented as a promising alternative with that same low-heeled feel and so… 👀

Let me know what’s on your Sézane wishlist – or if you’ve already tried any of these. (Please tell me the loafers run true to size.) And yes… I’ll report back once the inevitable order lands!
