In a launch that’s perfectly timed for those going into the fall/autumn season… (and also to those of you navigating topsy turvy spring weather!), I’ve got an exciting pair of shoes to share with you. Ally Shoes have just released their first tall boot (huzzahhhh!!), and it is something special. For the past few weeks, I’ve been engaging in secret squirrel business (ie. road testing the boots) and the time has come to spill the beans now that I’ve had a chance to properly wear them.

While the brand has been around for almost six years, Ally Shoes only released their first boot style last year – the ankle boot. I know for a fact that they really took the time to perfect the design before launching. For the past few years, I’ve been relying on Ally Shoes for the heels I wear to the office. The comfort offered by their podiatrist-designed shoes is unmatched. So it is very exciting that they’re continuing to expand their boot styles that offer the same comfort features the brand is known and loved for.

Introducing – the Tall Boot. She’s sleek, she’s stylish and most importantly, she’s comfortable. The Tall Boot is a pointed-toe style boot with a practical 50mm (2”) block heel, making these a walkable all-day option. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, I walked over 10K steps in them when I schlepped into the office and ran a few errands on the day (you can watch that mini vlog here). No sign of blisters in the slightest.
What makes them so comfortable?
The comfort features embedded within the boots feature the brand’s patented ergonomic support structure which includes:
- A padded insole
- Proper arch support
- Strategic toe cushioning (something I’d never seen before until trying Ally Shoes!)
- Stretch lining (for flexibility and to minimise any need to break-in the shoes)
The boots are offered in an inclusive size range from US 4 through to 12 (in half sizes). You can also further customise the boots by selecting from 3 different toe box widths (medium, wide and extra wide), and 2 different calf sizes (regular or roomy). For reference, I’ve got the boots in a size US 6.5, medium width (B) with the roomy calf option.
At the moment, the Tall Boot is available in four versatile colours – black suede, black calf, camel calf and chocolate calf (the boots I have).

The verdict
As to whether the boots live up to their comfort claims, I’m pleased to report they pass with flying colours. The patented ergonomic support structured paired with the lower block heel makes these incredibly comfortable to wear. There was zero break-in time, and as I mentioned earlier, I wore these on a particular busy day where I clocked up 10K steps and had zero issues with my feet at the end of the day. It would be a different story if I was wearing a pair of mass-produced heeled shoes!
While I appreciate I’m focussing heavily on the comfort features (because they are indeed, most excellent), it would be remiss of me not to mention how stylish they are. As you can see from the outfits I’ve featured, I’ve managed to put together a range of different ensembles, for both work and play, featuring the boots. The chocolate calf leather is an incredible flattering colour and definitely my pick of the lot.
As for the quality and construction, I’ve got zero notes. I’ve always been impressed with the craftsmanship of all of the shoes from Ally in my collection. I personally love the fact that the shoes are made once you’ve placed your order and tailored to your specific sizing requirements, as opposed to subjecting your feet to the standard sizing of mass produced shoes. Given the quality, I’m confident these shoes will form part of your collection for many years.
