And just like that, winter is out. The sun is gloriously shining and folks, I’m dishing up a new season capsule wardrobe for you now that the weather is warmer. It’s like meal planning, but for your outfits 😉 If that analogy doesn’t rock your boat, then how about the idea of fuss free outfits for an entire season?! Yep. By doing all the hard yards now (and because I’m such a nice person, I lay all the groundwork for you in this blog post), the idea is that you curate a capsule for your needs and lifestyle.

Before I delve into what I’ve included in my capsule, here are some quick tips to help you curate yours:

#1 – Factor in YOUR lifestyle – it’s always tempting to create a carbon copy of the capsule wardrobes of those you admire, but it’s important to consider how you go about your day. Of course, take as much inspiration as you want, but apply a realistic lens. That’s exactly what I’ve done with this spring capsule – it reflects my lifestyle, as well as pieces that bring me joy to inject in my personal style. Work obviously takes a huge chunk of my life, but I’ve also factored all the other practical things that take up my time after hours.

#2 – Choose versatile pieces – after all, this is the magic of a capsule wardrobe. There are some no brainers included – like t-shirts and jeans – but I’ve also included other items that I’ve had to chance to play around with that I know will work well. Basically, try to avoid pieces that are challenging to style.

#3 – Include items that you really love – (including pieces that you’re excited to wear!). You’ll notice that I’m injecting pops of colour into my outfits of late, and I’ve definitely leaned into that for this season’s capsule.

Alrighty, with those tips out of the way, keep scrolling to see what’s in my spring capsule and the many outfits that can be styled!

What’s in my capsule?

There’s a mix of wardrobe favourites and items that are shiny and new. Let me break it down for you:

Tops

We’re shifting away from all of the knitwear in my winter capsule and transitioning into the territory of lighter fabrics. OOOooooo! I’ve ensured there are still options for light layering as I appreciate the weather is still topsy turvy. Let’s kick things off with my favourite crew neck tee from Arket (there’s even a dedicated blog post about it as it’s a most excellent piece), followed by a couple of long sleeve tops including this merino wool top from Henne (for when it’s chilly), or this long sleeve tee from Arket (which is just the long sleeve version of my favourite crew neck tee). Also included are two shirts, my striped blue shirt from Sezane and my navy linen shirt from Power Of My People*. Both shirts perfectly straddle relaxed and dressy which will prove versatile for whatever outfit you have planned. Finally, we’ve got three exciting tops – first, my longline vest from Anna Quan in an amazing butter yellow shade. I love the high neckline and the fact that it looks great styled casually and dressed up for the office. Next we’ve got my statement knit from Henne which you’ve all seen before (including in my winter capsule). Despite it being a bright red, it pairs with all the neutral tones in my wardrobe, which you’ll see in the outfits I’ve included below. Finally, another piece I’ve carried over from my winter capsule is this asymmetric knit top from Henne. It is honestly the most flattering top and fills the ‘dressy top’ gap in my capsule. I love the stylish (and modest) neckline.

Bottoms

I’ve covered all bases with the bottoms in my capsule – mainly consisting of denim (this light wash pair and this classic wash pair) and straight leg trousers*, with my favourite skirt thrown in there for good measure. All of these pieces you’ve seen before – so I don’t intend on going into detail on any of them. When you scroll down to the outfits section, you’ll be able to see the variety of outfits I’ve been able to create with them.

Outerwear

I’ve included 4 jackets in this spring capsule but I think I’ve done a great job in terms of maximising the variety of looks I can achieve! There’s my go-to short trench coat (this Arket short trench coat was made for the transitional season and is one of my favourite jackets ever!), this vegan leather jacket from Henne which is one of the coolest new additions to my wardrobe recently, my blazer from The Curated in a spring-friendly taupe colour, and my Sezane trench coat, for when the weather is on the chillier side. Badabing badaboom.

The one dress!

There’s only one dress in this season’s capsule but I think it’s impactful. My Anna Quan dress was a recent purchase but I think it strikes the perfect balance between dressy and relaxed. The overall vibe will be dictated by the shoes and bag I choose to style with it. Quick sizing note on the dress – I followed the size guide and sized down for a fitted look, but they generally run true to size.

THE ONLY DRESS IN MY CAPSULE!

Shoes

Again, no surprises here folks. A lot of these pairs will be familiar to many of you. I managed to narrow it down to 4 pairs which will serve me well in providing a variety of looks.

Bags

Ahhhh my favourite category. I’ve managed to whittle it down to 3 bags in this capsule – two bags I own, and one bag I’m manifesting ownership! My Gucci bag continues to be on high rotation (read my comprehensive review here). It’s my go-to dressy bag but I love how it can be styled in casual outfits too. Then there’s my everyday tote from Bellroy bag which I’ve reviewed in detail in this blog post. The colour is really easy to style and pairs well with all the neutrals in my wardrobe. Finally, I’ve included this Loewe tote which I would love to add to my wardrobe one day! The khaki tone is just beautiful and it’s a practical size that can also fit a laptop.

Accessories

I’ve included accessories in my capsule this time round, as I typically cling onto my favourites and wear them on repeat. My tortoiseshell sunglasses are a favourite at the moment – they suit my Asian nose and I like the playful tones. I’ve also included my brown pair when I want to achieve a more subtle look. And we have a couple of earrings to rotate between including an everyday pair of squared-off hoops, and a statement pair of link earrings, both from Francesca Jewellery.
