We’ve got a few things to talk about folks. I placed an (above-average sized) order from Sezane after the release of their fall collection and we have some thoughts! Personally, the transitional season is when Sezane truly delivers on brilliance and in my view, their Spring / Autumn collections are generally interchangeable between hemispheres – a magical time when our outfits typically align. For me, it’s their knitwear that’s a particular standout, but you have to be strategic with the styles you choose given the variety of fabrics and wool Sezane can use (for example, their mohair / alpaca wool knits don’t necessarily agree with my skin).

I’ve shared my thoughts in my latest YouTube video (see below) but I wanted to share some side-by-side shots so you can see what the items I bought look like on the model vs how they look on a mere mortal (ie. me). Sizing info will also be included for reference and if you’re new here (hello!), I’m 158cm (or 5’2) and typically wear a size AU 8, UK 8 and a US 2-4.

#1 – Tomi Jumper

Sezane knit (sz XS), Henne jeans (sz 26 – featured here), Brown slingback heels* (use ‘SARAHFLINT-CCVIRGINIA1’ for 15% off), Francesca earrings*

Let’s kick things off with one of their new designs – it’s called the “Tomi Jumper” though I think describing it as a vest is probably more accurate. I opted to buy this one in Vintage Blue in a size XS and it’s cut to a boxy silhouette that has a relaxed fit on the body. The knit is made of 100% yak wool which feels really soft to the touch, very similar to cashmere. I’m pretty pleased with the knit, it looks great worn on its own as well as layered over a tee (as styled by the model).

#2 – Betty Cardigan

Sezane knit (sz S), Henne jeans (sz 26 – featured here), Bared sandals, Francesca earrings*

Apologies for the dodgy website image, I struggled to find one but hopefully you get the gist. I’m no stranger to Sezane’s Betty cardigan – I’ve bought this in several colours already and it’s constantly released in new shades. It’s one of my favourite knits from the brand as both a flattering style and fantastic quality made from 100% merino wool. The style is quite simple – slightly boxy, slightly cropped – excellent if you’re petite or have a shorter torso. The fabric also makes for easy maintenance – I pop this in the machine on a gentle cycle and it always comes up looking new. I picked up the Betty in the new season khaki green (called “Perfect Green” on the website).

Just a quick note on sizing, I decided to size up to a size S this time round, and I’d recommend you do the same. Having always opted for a size XS, I much prefer the additional room and relaxed fit that you achieve from sizing up. There isn’t too much of a difference between the sizes when it comes to sleeve length.

#3 – Will Knit Jacket

Sezane jacket (sz S), Arket long sleeve tee (sz XS), Henne jeans (sz 26 – featured here), Brown slingback heels* (use ‘SARAHFLINT-CCVIRGINIA1’ for 15% off), Francesca earrings*

I’ve had this jacket on my radar for a while, but I must admit it’s the hefty price tag that’s always made me think twice. Having now tried the original Will Jacket in both denim and suede, I honestly feel like the style shines best in the knit fabric. It’s part cosy cardigan, part structured jacket, with a slight letterman jacket flavour. I opted for a size S (having bought my other Will jackets in size XS) and it’s perfect. It strikes the ideal balance between relaxed and put together. I now wish I sized up to a size S in my other Will jackets as I think that’s part of the problem of why I don’t reach for them as often as I should!

#4 – Louisa Skirt

Sezane skirt (sz S), Arket long sleeve tee (sz XS), Ally Boots (use ‘VIRGINIATALLBOOT’ for 10% off!), Francesca earrings*

I love how this skirt looks on the model. And if you’re familiar with the aforementioned Betty cardigan, the fabric used for this skirt is identical. I bought myself a size S however I found it to be a tad tight under the waistband, which you might be able to tell in the photo I’ve included. I was hoping the skirt would skim my body like an A-line skirt, but it sits tights, so I definitely think I should have sized up for this one!

#5 – Nicia Dress

Sezane dress (sz FR 36), Arket long sleeve tee (sz XS), Bared boots, Francesca earrings*

This dress managed to sell out before I even received the parcel from Sezane which could be indicative of two things: 1. the dress is popular; or 2. there was limited stock. Either way, I think it’s a cute number. I stuck with my usual size, a FR 36, and I think the length is flattering on my petite frame. The fabric is also made from 100% wool which is quite heavyweight though it still drapes on the body. While I remarked earlier on the fact that Sezane’s transitional pieces translate across both Spring and Autumn, I think this squarely fits in the Autumn season, given the cosy factor.

#6 – Sandy Skirt

Sezane skirt (sz 36), Arket long sleeve tee (sz XS), Bared boots, Francesca earrings*

Finally, I’ve re-tried the Sandy skirt in their Olive tone. The skirt is a very popular style for the brand, as it’s constantly released in new prints and colours. I think the cut is great, but if I were to get nitpicky about it, I’m not huge on the side zip closure. I’ve got a few silk midi skirts in a similar style in my wardrobe that have an elasticated waistband, so I love the ease of just slipping the skirt on and also the comfort of the elasticated waistband. I’m on the fence about this one, but in terms of the cut and the fit – it’s pretty solid folks.

I hope you found this round-up to be useful. Let me know what you think of the items I bought.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
