I caught myself in a moment of smugness last week schlepping around in the sunshine, despite it technically still being winter here. We’re blessed with great weather in Sydney and while I was half-expecting to be humbled with a cold snap, that never happened, so the smugness remains. As I type, the sun is doing its best work and forecast to shine bright for the next week at least, so I think we can call it folks – winter is done! Huzzah!

I wanted to share an outfit I wore last Friday when the weather was glorious. It’s how I’ll be pitching my outfits during the transitional season, when I want to look elevated but still be comfortable. It also incorporates a ‘pop of colour’, which makes me chortle to type given how cliche the phrase is, but this bright red knit from Henne is honestly my personality at the moment! I bought it recently, and reviewed it here, and it’s surprisingly easy to style despite being a statement colour.

My shirt is from Power Of My People, my favourite shirt brand. I’ve got two of their Oxford shirts and recently added this linen shirt to the mix to see me through the warmer months. Admittedly, my relationship with linen can be best described as love-hate. It’s so breezy and lightweight, but the damn fabric tends to crease as soon as you put it on. But with this shirt?! No Siree-Bob. The fabric is such great quality – for starters, it’s thicker than the fabric used in linen shirts I own from the high street and there’s some nice structure to the shirt too – it holds its shape well. There’s something about wearing a button down shirt in a casual outfit that makes you feel like you’ve got your life together.
I’m sporting my Henne jeans which I managed to nab 20 minutes after I received the restock alert email. I’ve been wanting to add a pair of relaxed cut jeans to my rotation for a while, and while I had a few pairs in the mix, this style ultimately won. I’ve got both the indigo wash and the light wash and now that I’ve gone to the effort of having them tailored, I couldn’t be happier with them. They’re a great high-waisted style which perfectly balances the relaxed silhouette.
Accessories-wise, I’m wearing my trusty Gucci loafers and Gucci bag, which work to elevate my entire outfit. My sunglasses are a pair you’ve seen many times now, they’re from Status Anxiety and I just love the black and white tortoiseshell.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
