I attended as a guest of Net-A-Porter but was not obliged to prepare this blog post.

I had the pleasure of attending a cocktail party with Net-A-Porter to welcome Natalie Lee, General Manager of YOOX Net-A-Porter APAC & Japan to Sydney. The cocktail event was held at Reign at the QVB and it was so great to connect with all the inspiring people who attended and take a break from the usual glam Friday night routine (usually in my finest fleece keeping the kids alive etc).

The Curated blazer* (sz XS – review here, AU link here), Frankie Shop vest (sz S – also available in beige), Frankie Shop trousers (sz S), Sarah Flint heels* (use ‘SARAHFLINT-CCVIRGINIA1’ for 15% off), Loewe bag (current season colour linked), Francesca necklace*, Polene earrings*, Arms of Eve bangle* and beaded bracelets*

Dressing for a winter cocktail event isn’t something I do often, but I started with my Frankie Shop trousers (that have since been restocked at Net-A-Porter) and built my outfit around those. They can be best described as a pair of dressy cargo pants and I’ve really only styled them for work (see here, here and here) so it was nice to have the opportunity to dress them up and showcase their ‘desk-to-drinks’ ability, one of those phrases that gets thrown around often on the fashion corners of the internet.

I decided to go with the matching asymmetric vest (which also comes in this beige colour) for some co-ord action. On the sizing front, I didn’t get it right the first time! I initially bought the vest in a size XS but after a few wears I realised it was too fitted so I ended up selling it and repurchasing it in a size S. If you’re a size AU 8, I would recommend a size S for a more comfortable fit. I stuck with the classic theme and wore my blazer from The Curated (AU link, US/UK/EU link), the most luxurious blazer in my wardrobe that drapes beautifully thanks to the wool & silk fabrication. I recently bought the blazer in taupe as I love the style – you’ll be seeing a lot more of it soon!

As my outfit was quite simple, I relied heavily on my accessories to take my outfit up a few notches. I decided on my Sarah Flint heels for a hint of shine and carted all of my things in my new Loewe bag which I nabbed on sale from Net-A-Porter last month. Without these details, my outfit would have otherwise looked very Monday to Thursday, as opposed to Friday night, if you get my drift.
