I love finding a good deal. And I have an intense love of Celine bags. Pair those two loves together and you’ve got yourself an eagle-eyed spotter of Celine-like objects. In today’s post, I’m going to be sharing the best dupes I’ve spotted of the Classic Box Bag from Celine. The iconic bag was first introduced by the brand in 2010 and has been on my wish list for the best part of 10 years. Over the years I’ve added a few Celine bags to my collection (like this one and this one) but I’ve held back on pulling the trigger on the Classic Box Bag – due in large part to its price tag. It sits on the upper end of the Celine price scale in comparison to other Phoebe Philo designed bags.
Design-wise, it’s a stunningly beautiful bag. Very elegant, very pared back. The simple structured design epitomises Celine’s restraint and nails the brief of a phrase currently making the rounds – quiet luxury. There are no bells and whistles, no visible logos, just a beautifully constructed bag made from premium leather. I’ve tried it on in store many times over the years, each time reinforcing its beauty when I get to have a play with the bag in person.

I admit my desire for the bag has fallen away in light of the availability of good quality dupes. The bag’s simplistic design does make it easy for it to be copied, or inspire similar designs. Dupes have sprouted in the high street as well as contemporary labels. So if you find yourself in a similar boat to me where you find the price tag difficult to swallow, I’ve found a number of options that look very similar to the real thing but at much affordable price points. Feel free to thank me in the comments 😉
So let’s get to it!
This little bag has been making waves on social media and is hands down the best high street dupe that I’ve come across. I was able to inspect the bag up close at a recent event I attended with Marks & Spencer and I also have this bag to thank for my first media feature on news.com.au and DailyMail (hey mum, i’m famous!) after sharing this bag over on my IG stories when it became available to purchase in Australia. At $75.99, it represents incredible value for money. The style constantly sells out so you have to act fast if you want one. It’s currently available in six colours so – run!
The resemblance is uncanny with this bag and at $100AUD ($155AUD), this is a hard one to pass up. While it’s priced a little higher than the M&S dupe, this bag is made of calfskin representing some real bang for buck (and less than 3% of the price of the Celine bag). At the time I’m hitting publish on this post, the bag is on backorder and due to be restocked within the next few days. Thankfully you don’t have to wait long!
Now for a dupe that’s actually part of my collection (and featured in the imagery at the beginning of this post), the team at The Curated sent this across to me a few months ago to test out. The shape is more rectangular than the Celine version but it’s an excellent inspired-by design. It retails for $325USD ($450 AUD) (roughly 8% of the price of the Celine bag), is made from premium leather and it comes in a variety of neutral tones. My chocolate brown version is currently out of stock but you can join the waitlist to be notified when it’s back!
#4 – A.P.C. Grace Bag
Contemporary labels have also embraced the classic bag design. The Grace Bag from A.P.C. is one of the label’s signature handbags and retails for between $700 – $900AUD depending on the size you opt for. It’s made from 100% Spanish Leather and it’s lined in a combination of suede and leather. The tan shade that it comes in is beautifully rich compared to the more cool-toned brown of The Curated’s bag featured above. If you’re more inclined to warmer shades, this is your bag.

French-label Sezane has also embraced this classic box bag offering it in a variety of neutral tones. The bag has an adjustable strap and is made from 100% coatskin and lined in cotton. It retails for $475USD ($605AUD) and you can even have it monogrammed in gold at no additional cost.

And to round out this list of dupes, I thought it would be worthwhile to share this Saint Laurent Le Carre Bag. It features a different style buckle to the Celine bag but it pays homage to the classic structured shape. It’s a designer piece so it obviously carries a hefty price tag, though it still retails for roughly 30% less than the Celine version.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
