My black Gucci Jordaan loafers currently hold the title for my most worn pair of shoes this year. They’ve kept my feet very happy (and very stylish) for my office days as well as when I’m WFH or out and about on the weekends. I love the style so much and really want to add another pair in a lighter shade to my collection. My ideal second pair would be in the light tan (or mud brown) leather that was released a few years ago but I might have missed the boat there as I think it was a seasonal colour. That hasn’t stopped me from popping into the Gucci boutique from time-to-time to see what other hues they have on offer.
I paid a visit to the boutique during a lunch break a few weeks ago and took advantage because there was no queue to go in. There were a few of seasonal prints that caught my eye released for Gucci Love Parade and I managed to try them on in my size. By chance I was wearing my own pair of black Jordaan loafers which made it easy to draw comparisons between my classic leather style and the seasonal canvas. Both of the prints on each of the styles I tried feature the classic GG motif on canvas, a monogram that has become iconic in its own right.

The blue/beige pair is arguably the more traditional pair out of the two styles I tried. It features blue leather piping, horsebit detail in silver and the original GG canvas in beige and blue. On the other hand, the camel/ebony pair features a mix of both the classic GG canvas as well as a maxi variation, complete with brown leather piping and horsebit detail in gold. While I initially thought the blue pair would be my favourite in light of how much I love navy, after trying both on, the maxi GG canvas variation is definitely my pick! The larger print isn’t as over-the-top as I thought it would be and I much prefer the horsebit detail in gold rather than the silver shade on the blue pair that looks a tad dull in my opinion.
It was so fun to pop in and try these styles on. I wonder whether I’ll ever reach that stage in life where my clothing budget will provide for me to have both the classic and ‘fun version’ of my favourite designer shoes!

While I was there, I also tried on a pair of the GG slingback pumps in the navy/beige colour way with the kitten heel. I love a good pointed toe slingback shoe and this pair matched my outfit perfectly!
As always, thanks for stopping by.
