Gumboots have been on high rotation for me this year, thanks to the incredible amount of rain that has fallen as a result of La Nina, so it should come as no surprise that they’ve become a fast favourite of mine because of how practical they are. It only takes a few rainy day outings without proper wet weather gear to realise what a difference it makes to stay dry. I only need to squelch around for a few minutes in wet shoes with soggy socks before I turn into Moaning Myrtle.
I never thought I’d be so enthused about a pair of shoes that were made for a practical purpose. But aside from their practical qualities, they’ve added a cool touch to my rainy day outfits, particularly during the Autumn/Winter season. In fact, I’ve even worn my rain boots when it hasn’t been raining because I’ve found the squishy sole makes these a comfortable shoe option – very similar to durable lug sole boots that a lot of brands have been coming out with. My rain boots of choice are my Everlane Rain Boots which I have two colours – khaki and stone, but they also come in black and camel (the newest shade that I’m very tempted to buy!).

Size-wise, they only come in full sizes. So if you’re a half size like me, the sizing notes recommend that you size down. I’m usually a size 6.5 in both AU and US shoe sizing and I have the size 6 in the boots. They’re a great fit, with ample room for a pair of thick socks.
In today’s post, I wanted to share four of the many ways that I’ve rocked my Everlane Rain Boots. My feet will never get cold (or wet) again.
