We had a break from the rain a couple of days ago so I thought I’d ease myself out of the waterproof gear that has been getting a bit of a workout lately and wear something a bit more spesh. We’re getting back into the swing of things again and all those postponed events are now back onnnnnn and then some! If I’m honest, the idea of dressing up again is a tad anxiety-inducing for me. While I’ve got my work wardrobe down pat, I lack the creative juices when it comes to dressing for everything else. A blazer and a tee looks pretty ritzy during the day but it can be a bit lacklustre if you’re heading out for a nice dinner.

So, to help make the transition back into dressing up a little easier, here’s my take on the foolproof ‘jeans and a nice top’ combo! It’s a combo that suits errrrrybody. I’m sticking to my neutral palette in this outfit but boring it is not, thanks to the billowy sleeves that are the star of the show.

I’m wearing an embroidered balloon-sleeve top from Apero, an Aussie based label. It’s a cropped style but thanks to my high-waisted pants, my mum tum is still firmly tucked away! 😅 The high neckline is right up my alley and the top features a fitted ruched bodice that counters the puffy sleeves. To finish off the look, I’ve got my Manolo Blahnik Maysale mules that are a manageable kitten heel. They’re a beautifully minimal shoe but I’ll be honest, they’re not the comfiest shoes going round! 🤪 The lack of support at the heel is my only bugbear, so if you want a more practical option then the Manolo Blahnik Maysli heels might be a better pick. Still, I’m not deterred from wearing these, but walk for miles I cannot!

As always, thanks for stopping by!
P.S. Four ways I’ve styled my Anine Bing skirt and stylish wet weather clothing? Yep, it exists!
