I took some comfort on the Net-A-Porter website recently and proceeded to purchase a couple of Anine Bing pieces that had been on my radar for a while, just to try out… all in the comfort of free returns, of course! A harmless try-on session wouldn’t hurt, right?! Well, surprise surprise, I fell in love with said pieces and they’ve happily found a home in my wardrobe. Considering I’m constantly telling my boys (or yelling, rather) that ‘sharing is caring’, and while Anine Bing pieces aren’t really the same as Lego blocks, I’m going to practice what I preach and share these with you (because I’m so caring like that 😉). If you watched my latest YouTube video, you might recognise the pieces that I’m about to share!

The piece that I was most excited to try was this skirt, which I have in a size S. I was initially apprehensive that the midi-length would end up being maxi-length on my petite frame, but I’m pleasantly surprised. It hits me mid-calf and I’m quite happy with it. These satin-y, sheen-y skirts have been around for a while, so it’s not a novel piece by any means, but I do think it’s a wardrobe staple that easily elevates a look. Considering how much black I have in my wardrobe, I like how the black satin adds a textural element. This is a really comfortable skirt, it has an elasticised waist and I like to wear this one high waisted.

The other Anine Bing piece that I picked up is this ribbed tank which is a racer-back style that works to highlight the shoulders. The cotton fabric used in the top is quite thick and stretchy, so it feels like you’re being sucked in (which is exactly how I want to be when wearing something so fitted!). I’m really pleased with the cut and quality of this piece, I’m looking to add a couple more in other colours (budget permitting!). Size wise, I picked up a size XS and it fits me well.

In other news, you might recognise the cute black mules on my footsies from my unboxing video and my blog post here. After careful consideration, I decided to keep the Manolo Blahnik Maysale mules and I think they are perfect with this outfit. Meanwhile, I didn’t realise the Maysales were so polarising… I posted up a couple of polls up on my Instagram stories when I was still within the returns window and a lot of you were very frank in my DMs about how you didn’t like the look of them! I feel like an apology is in order considering I didn’t follow your advice! Sorryyyyy…. (but not really 😜).

I still haven’t had a chance to properly wear these out (it’s not like we’ve been going anywhere lately!) but I do have a few events coming up this year that I’m excited to whip them out for!

What do you think of the new bits I’ve added to my wardrobe?

As always thanks for stopping by.
