ICYMI, I’ve just started a YouTube channel! I’m a total rookie at the moment, but in my second ever video I’ve summarised all of my luxury purchases for the year. This year I was able to check off a few items off my wish list and I’m pleased to report that they’ve all been a success (and I managed to nab a couple on sale!).
The Curated coat* (sz XS), Everlane knit* (sz S), Everlane pants* (sz 2, Short), Loewe belt, Celine bag, Sarah Flint boots* (use ‘SARAHFLINT-BAWHATVEEWORE’) for $50USD off, Ray Ban sunglasses
When it comes to designer items, I take a considered approach before pulling the trigger and typically purchase these items after they’ve been on my wish list for some time. You can watch my luxury round-up in my video linked below.
Luxury Purchases of 2021
#1 – Acne Studios Canada Scarf in Camel
Having worn the grey version of the scarf to death, I figured it was time to expand my collection by adding a warm neutral to my rotation. I love the signature Canada scarf from Acne Studios, it’s deliciously oversized and can also be worn as a wrap (which I tend to do in the office when the air-conditioning is set to Antarctic).
#2 – R.M. Williams Boots
I finally added the national boot of Australia to my wardrobe after trying out the different styles in store. The Lady Yearling is my top pick from their line-up of classic Chelsea boots featuring a subtle almond toe and low block heel. If you’re in the market for a pair, I recommend that you go for a rubber sole over the leather sole as I found the leather sole to be very slippery when trying it on in store and anticipate potential misadventures when worn during wet weather.
#3 – Gucci Loafers
I can’t believe I chickened out SO many times before finally buying these loafers during a moment of weakness on a Sunday morning in lockdown. These loafers are my favourite luxe purchase of the year and have been a real pleasure to wear. I’ve still yet to pay my cobbler a visit to have them re-soled with a rubber sole (to extend the life of the shoes) and will need to prioritise that soon before I wear them in further!
#4 – Loewe Belt
I added a beautifully classic Loewe belt to my collection earlier this year and the divine logo of the four Ls subtle pops in the gold hardware. I feel like I’ve got bang for buck with this belt, as it’s reversible (black on one side and navy on the other) and works well as both a hip and waist belt thanks to its very wearable 3cm width.
#5 – Celine Small Phantom Cabas Bag
And last, but certainly not least, is my newest bag addition. I really branched out here with the grey (given I only have black Celine bags) and I’m only just recovering from the stress I experienced when deciding which colour to go for! 😜 I initially had my eye on the medium size but after trying it on in store, realised the small size was perfect (and is still large enough to hold my 14″ laptop for work).
And that’s a wrap on all the luxury purchases that I made in 2021.
Thanks for stopping by and for continuing to support what I do here. I am grateful to each and everyone of you who read my blog, follow me over on Instagram and are supporting me on my new adventure on YouTube!
P.S. Here’s a round up of my style favourites of 2021.
