Okay fiiiine.  I admit that during these past few weeks of lockdown, I’ve found it difficult not to shop from my favourite online retailers.  In keeping up this blog, I’m constantly browsing online to draw inspiration, but I’m pretty good with containing it to just a browse!  That hasn’t really been the case lately which perhaps comes down to the fact that change is in the air (new season; lockdown release imminent), and I’ve been really excited to add a few bits to my wardrobe.

In the spirit of sharing (because I’m so caring *hair flick!*), here are a couple of pieces that I recently picked up from Mango.  I had about six things in my cart but managed to whittle it down to two items.  If you’re shopping from Australia, Mango ship via DHL and returns are straightforward with a courier pick-up fee of $5 AUD.

#1 – Checked Dress

Mango checked dress (sz S), Sarah Flint heels* (discount code here), Background mess – not for sale 😜

I ran a poll over on my Instagram stories last week when I first received this Mango checked dress because I was a bit concerned that the print was too much.  It’s different to anything I have in my wardrobe but I’ve really grown to love it.  And with my pear shaped figure, I quite like how the dress flatters my curves.  It’s made from a medium weight knit fabric which I think is the most flattering when it comes to figure hugging dresses as it sufficiently contains my cuddly bits.  And as an added plus, there’s a bit of stretch to the dress so it’s very comfortable to wear.  Without shoes, the hem just hits my ankles, but I’ll likely wear some mid-heels when I do wear this out just to dress it up a little! This is the current top candidate for my birthday outfit later next month.  I have my fingers crossed we’ll be free by then and I can frolic around the streets in my semi-psychedelic dress!

I picked up a size S and it fits me perfectly.

#2 – Knitted Vest

Striped vest (sz S) – worn on its own on the left; layered over my Arket tee on the right; Everlane trousers* (sz 2, short), Sarah Flint heels* (discount code here),

And for more prints, I picked up this striped vest as I really loved the button detail and the mock-neckline.  I don’t mind wearing the vest on its own but have played around with it layered over a tee and I think that’s my preferred way of wearing it.  It pairs really well with denim – black, blue or white – thanks to the classic black and white tones.

I picked up a size S and it fits me perfectly.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

P.S. My top 5 jacket picks from Mango and 5 smart casual outfits featuring the trusty ‘blazer + jeans’ combination.
