For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been stuck in lockdown here in Sydney (which has now been extended for at least another week… surprise surprise).  And with increased time at home comes increased time scrolling on my phone which just so happened to coincide with sale season.  Rather than resist the temptation to browse, I’ve succumbed to its powerful force and picked up a few pieces, checking off a few wish list items in the process.

I thought I’d share with you my most recent lockdown acquisitions, as well as a few things I’m seriously considering adding to cart.

Marle Cooper Top

L: Marle Cooper top (sz 6), Nobody Denim jeans, R.M. Williams boots, Celine bag (review here), Ray Ban sunglasses R: Marle Cooper top (sz 8), Everlane chinos* (sz 2), Atmos & Here Sandals, Senreve bag* (use WHATVEEWORE for $50USD off), Loewe belt, Ray Ban sunglasses

It’s been a while since I’ve loved a piece so much to buy it in multiple colours.  I fell in love with the khaki Marle top when I saw Jamie Lee of Mademoiselle share it on her Instagram and I spotted it shortly after while having a browse at the shops during a lunch break (ahhh, those were the days). Well, you all know the ending to that story because it ended up coming home with me and I’ve managed to get so much wear out of it that I’ve justified buying the white version too.  The linen looks and feels premium and it is such a lovely cut.

Acne Studios Scarf

Acne Studios scarf, Toteme jacket (via Vestiaire Collective), Everlane pants* (sz S, review here), R.M. Williams boots

My Acne Studios Canada Scarf in grey has been a much loved winter wardrobe piece and I’ve long wanted to add another colour to my collection.  They don’t come cheap so I’ve tried on a heap of different colours in store before settling on my short list of colours.  I came across this caramel brown version on Net-A-Porter for 25% less than retail (even though it’s not marked as a sale item….) and while it’s not listed as a ‘Canada Scarf’, it is exactly the same dimensions (200 x 70cm) as my beloved grey Canada (…and it’s even more beautiful in person!)

Reiss Sia Coat

Reiss coat (sz 6), Everlane pants* (review here), Nicholas Kirkwood loafers (review here)

I’ve just received a shipping update on this coat that I’ve ordered and it’s due to arrive tomorrow – hooray!  As I shared in this post, I seriously contemplated paying full price for this coat a few weeks back but I bailed once I got to the register as “Rational (…and killjoy) Virginia” kicked into gear and couldn’t justify spending 800 clams on a wool blend coat.  Despite the hefty price tag, the coat is beautifully cut and it remained on my wish list in the hope of a discount.  Well, the wait was well and truly worth it as I managed to nab the coat for almost half price (plus the annoying import duties I’ll need to pay buying from Reiss’ online store).  It’s vindicating to have waited it out and saved some dollars in the process.

Atmos & Here Leather Sandals

Atmos & Here sandals, Reiss jacket (sz UK 8, new season version here), Marle Cooper top (sz 8), Scanlan Theodore skirt (sold out), Celine bag (review here), Ray Ban sunglasses

And for an acquisition that wasn’t even on my radar and something that I really didn’t need (but am so glad to have!) are these Jen Leather Sandals by Atmos & Here that are a fantastic dupe for The Row’s Bare Sandals.  They’re now down to $21.95 – so, impossible to pass up.  I’m already excited to see how low I’ll bring the cost per wear down to…

Sarah Flint Rosie Loafers

Perhaps a sign of the times, but I’ve been adding a fair few relaxed items to my wardrobe over the past year or so.  And with much more time at home, and a shift towards hybrid working once lockdown is over, I sense this shift will be here to stay.  While I’m all for the comfort at the moment, I still like a bit of polish and these Sarah Flint Rosie Loafers strike the perfect balance.  They’re comfortable straight out of the box and provide a bit of lift with a small 3cm block heel.  You can use my discount code ‘SARAHFLINT-BAWHATVEEWORE’ for $50USD off your first pair.

And still on my wish list…

Manolo Blahnik Maysale Mules

Manolo Blahnik mules, Toteme jacket (via Vestiaire Collective), Sarah Lloyd trousers (use ‘WVW20’ for 20% off, Arket tee

These have been on my wish list for the longest time and I’ve been umming and ahhing for days about adding this pair to my collection.  I’ve always told myself that I’d buy these as soon as they go on sale and there are a few discounted pairs available at the moment. Despite the discount, I’m still finding the price tag a bit hefty. And another reason why I’m hesitant to add to cart is that I’m not short of black shoes by any means! That said, I do think these are a classic pair of shoes that will be in my collection for years to come. If I don’t add these to my wardrobe this year, I’m sure there’ll be other opportunities in the near future.

Sarah Flint Natalie Flats

Sarah Flint flats (use ‘SARAHFLINT-BAWHATVEEWORE’ for $50USD off)

And I’ve built up quite the collection of Sarah Flint shoes but I’ve yet to add her most popular style to my wardrobe, being the Natalie Flat – a polished pointed toe flat made of a rich Saddle Vacchetta leather, as worn above by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (who sparked a 25,000 person waitlist after wearing these).  I’ve only ever heard rave reviews of these flats so I’d love to add these to my collection sooner rather than later!

Have you managed any sale purchases or are you being sensible this time round?

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you’re staying safe x

P.S. Ten wardrobe favourites currently on sale and five anti-skinny jean styles.

Great buys! Pity the Reiss coat only has a size 4 left!
