I’m now midway through my 5th week of reporting for duty from home. While the first few weeks were a bit of a schmozzle (ahem, disaster), I’m now getting into the routine of getting properly dressed every couple of days and it has been working wonders in boosting my mood and adding some normality to my day. Things are by no means normal. Having to stay cooped up in our modest terrace with young children while trying to maintain productivity at work has proven challenging for me and my husband. But we’re getting by and we’re adapting.

Each morning, at around 8am, we go on daily walks around our neighbourhood. Our boys love being outside for that small part of the day and our one-year old is usually silent for the duration of the walk just taking it all in – he has a thing for leaves and clouds! Before kids, I loved a sleep-in and while that luxury (and many others) has now gone by the wayside, being out and about early in the morning has been lovely. The air is cooler and we have the footpaths to ourselves.

As you would have seen lately on my Instagram feed, I’ve been taking advantage of the cooler change and have broken out my coats and scarves. The newest addition to my coat family has been this cashmere beauty by The Curated. Lighter coloured neutral coats are something I’ve been embracing and this coat is proving easy to style.

In terms of accessories, my usual rotation of shoulder bags has taken a period of unexpected leave in recent weeks. I’ve been relying on my Celine Trio Bag daily – the perfect crossbody bag that fits the main essentials – keys, wallet, phone, sunglasses. I’ve had the bag for over 5 years and for a bag that hasn’t been babied, it is still in top nick.

As for my scarf – well, this Acne Studios scarf has been on my wishlist for years and I finally bit the bullet and paid the exorbitant asking price in February this year. I have zero regrets. The scarf is cozy, luxurious and it is one of my WFH essentials. I recently shared my WFH clothing favourites and this scarf was a no-brainer to include on the list. I’m always wearing it while at my desk as it is quite cool inside our house. I only wish I purchased it years ago when I first wanted one so I could have enjoyed it earlier.

While fashion may seem like the last thing on everyone’s mind right now, I personally still love reading blogs and scrolling through Instagram. It gives me a moment of levity and distraction from all the bad news at the moment.

I hope you’re all staying well x
