The Knitwear You Need to Elevate Your WFH Style

I’m now in my fourth week of working from home and there has been a noticeable spike in knit wearing. Is there anything more comforting than popping on a cosy jumper? I think not!

Perhaps my love of chic knitwear is partly an attempt to rectify those fashion tragedies that I was subjected to as a kid at the hands of my mum who (bless her) lovingly knitted gaudy jumpers using mismatched coloured wool that she got on sale at Home Yardage back in the good ol’ days…. I was a true 80s child.

Now, as a self-proclaimed knitwear connoisseur, I’ve turned to Reiss, one of my favourite workwear labels (for both office and WFH) to share with you my picks of the best knitwear from cardis to turtlenecks to draped off-shoulder beauties to elevate your look for your next Zoom conference.

While I’ve got no intention of wearing a structured wool suit (or real shoes for that matter) now that I’m working from home, I’ve been relying on my chic knitwear to lift my spirits and get me through a work day.

#1 – Beige off-shoulder knit

I love Reiss’ drape knits – they are so flattering. For those familiar with my personal style, I’m quite conservative so I opt to wear this style of knit a little higher than pictured. I’ll drape the top of the knit across the base of my neck (see how I’ve worn the same off shoulder style in the dress version here) – it achieves the relaxed look that I’m after.

You can shop this gorgeous beige knit here.

#2 – White off-shoulder knit

I have this knit in the dress version (see me wearing it here) and it is one of my favourite purchases this year. The fabric is such a dream – thick, soft and luxe.

You can shop this white knit here.

#3 – Slim fit neutral cardigan

I love the delicate look of this cardigan and the tortoise shell buttons. The ribbed fabric means it will always be a perfect slim fit – great to wear with pencil skirts once the office is back in action!

#4 – Belted navy cardigan

A belted navy cardi? This has my name all over it.

#5 – Ivory turtleneck

An ivory turtleneck has long been on my wishlist and this piece looks exquisite. Another selling point for me is how amazing it looks belted! It’s a cashmere/wool blend so there’s little doubt that it feel super soft.

#6 – Mauve turtleneck

I know what you’re thinking… colour? But I do think the colour is muted enough to pass off as a neutral which form the core pieces of my wardrobe. I think this knit it would look amazing paired with navy, black and beige.

#7 – Melange crew neck

This melange knit is divine with the lovely button detail at the cuff and the white trim. I can certainly see this being a winner for video conferencing when working from home as well as dressing it up for the office.

#8 – Chunky navy knit

Continuing to spread my love of navy in knit form – this textured number looks so luxurious.

#9 – Cuffed navy knit

And rounding up my favourites is this cuffed navy piece. The mock neck and cuff detailing make it a winner for me. You can shop the knit here.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you’re staying safe and healthy wherever you are.
