Three Styles of Boots to Embrace This Winter

When you err on the short side (I’m 5’2”/158cm), finding flattering styles of boots is a bit like shopping for jeans – there are certain styles that will flatter your frame and other styles that are left for those less vertically challenged. So you can imagine how it feels to find boot silhouettes that actually work. You hang onto those for dear life! And while height or build doesn’t necessarily limit your choices, there are different considerations to keep in mind for what suits. So with that in mind, and with much trial and error of the various boot silhouettes on offer, here are the three boot styles that I’m embracing this winter.

R.M. Williams Boots Try-On and First Impressions

You’d be hard-pressed to find a list of Australian fashion icons without an R.M. Williams entry. With an almost 90-year history, R.M. Williams’ boots have earned cult status in the footwear arena and are widely considered to be the national boot of Australia. I’ve wanted a pair of R.Ms for the longest time and I’ve finally bitten the bullet with my very first pair. I tried on a few styles to find the pair that I liked the most and while it was by no means an easy decision to make, I thought I’d take the opportunity to share my thoughts on the different styles that I tried (as well as the style I ultimately chose!).

Everlane Washable Silk Review: Styles, Fabric and Sizing

While I love the luxury of silk, I’m not so keen on its maintenance. It’s pretty demanding, particularly when you compare it to its fabric siblings like cotton, and on top of that, silk doesn’t come cheap. It seems the silk gods have heard our cries and recently, there has been an emergence of a low maintenance variety. Silk shirts that never have to be dry cleaned? Sign me up! I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on several washable silk pieces from Everlane – my current go-to and general treasure trove for elevated basics. Everlane’s Washable Silk collection currently consists of two styles – the Relaxed Shirt and the Henley. I share my thoughts in this post.

In today’s post I wanted to share with you the shoes I’ve been enjoying wearing to the office now that I’ve been back for a few months. And while back in my 20s I used to traipse (…or rather, clomp) around in my 10cm+ high heels in the office, aside from the fact that they weren’t the most practical of choices, I’ve found that they’re just not really necessary anymore. A low-to-mid heel works just fine and they’re comfortable enough to walk around in all day and give that extra bit of height. In this post, I’m going to share three styles of shoes that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed wearing recently.

Acne Studios Canada Scarf Review – Is it Worth the Money?

When it comes to designer purchases, I’d categorise a scarf as the ultimate luxury buy. It’s indulgent but without the eye-wateringly expensive price tags of RTW coats or handbags. And if chosen well, it can be a smart addition to your wardrobe, particularly if it can be styled with the majority of your winter outfits, like a neutral toned scarf. So now that I’ve had my Acne Studios Canada Scarf for over a year, the million dollar question remains – is it worth it?
